In order to create a simple "donate" or "subscribe" button, you will need to sign up for a Paypal account. You can use any kind of account, however a basic Paypal account limits you to taking in $500/month (reference?). If you want to take in more or if you want to use the more advanced features of the Pledge Drive 2 plug-in, you will need either a Business or Premium account (link?).

You should also "verify" your account.

Once you have created and verified your account, you can go to the "Merchant Services" tab and create your buttons ..
